Richard Friday Greene
Who? What?
Richard Friday Greene
is a seller of words, a hawker of dreams, a peddler of scents and sounds.
He takes you to lonely kids who wish to fly and the dread of old men who fear they will fall. To footsteps that go the distance, through the American South to Turkish streets to Wisconsin farmland, where silos are the only skyline. He shows you the crime of poverty — and the poverty of crime. He gifts you the scent of spruce and a breeze as you rise higher on a swing with one you love, higher, even almost to Mars. He haunts you with the quiet noise of hospital emergency rooms, death like a daisy out of season, a cab driver’s prayers.
Richard Friday Greene creates a blanket to embrace you through grief and love and the realization you’ll never be a normie again, holding out the promise you can survive the incomprehensible.
In his novel Jessica, through letters to a deceased daughter, a father comes to understand himself and his past and to see the possibility of a future. His forthcoming works include a sequel, Pumpkin Seeds (January 2027), and People of Influence, a collection of stories (June 2027).
